Great opportunity: we are hiring a tig welder in Montmorency County, Michigan. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Day to day you will set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp. What we are looking for: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day We offer $5,000 per month plus benefits.
