Join our team: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Roscommon County, Michigan. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Your main tasks: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring You should have: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
