Foundry operative wanted in Cherokee County

Join our team: we are hiring a foundry operative in Cherokee County, Alabama. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. The role involves inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards 3+ years on the tools preferred. $21 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
