You should have: • Clean driving record with no recent endorsements • Physically fit for long hours behind the wheel • Good knowledge of driving-hours and tachograph rules Day-to-day duties: • Log working hours on the tachograph and swap driver cards • Couple and uncouple the trailer and check the fifth-wheel lock • Keep a safe following distance, adjusting for weather and load • Check load weight and axle distribution against permitted limits Six days a week, one day off.
