Trowel-trade bricklayer • Effingham County, Georgia

Now hiring: we are hiring a trowel-trade bricklayer in Effingham County, Georgia. You will be based at a residential building site. Day-to-day duties: • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser What we are looking for: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets At least 2 year(s) in a similar role. $2,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
