Immediate opening: tailor machinist (Michigan)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Schoolcraft County, Michigan. You will be based at a busy garment factory. Your main tasks: • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes Requirements: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens 5+ years on the tools preferred.
