We are recruiting: we are hiring a rebar foreman in Shropshire, England. The job is on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. On a typical shift you will tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat. Requirements: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
