Great opportunity: garment machinist (Scotland)

Now hiring: we are hiring a garment machinist in Orkney Islands, Scotland. You will be based in a textile and apparel unit. What we are looking for: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory On a typical shift you will trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges.
