On a typical shift you will inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site; conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) on every new task; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges. You should have: • Clear spoken delivery for toolbox talks and inductions • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
