Great opportunity: we are hiring a semi-automatic welder in Shawnee County, Kansas. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety You will maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose; check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration; clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead; weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness.
