Fire and safety officer • Ukwa West, Abia State

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Ukwa West, Abia State. The job is on a road and infrastructure project. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for full-site inspections on foot • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills Day-to-day duties: • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height • Investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports • Check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements • Run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points • Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) on every new task ₦1,100 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
