Fabricator-welder wanted in Scotland County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Scotland County, Missouri. You will be based in a pharmaceutical piping facility. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through Day to day you will clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle.
