Vertical milling machine operator wanted in Haines Borough

Immediate opening: we are hiring a vertical milling machine operator in Haines Borough, Alaska. On the job you will handle: • Mount workpieces in machine vices, clamps and fixtures and check for square • Machine slots, pockets, flats, keyways and contours to drawing • Monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters • Set tool offsets and the work zero (G54) using an edge finder or probe • Select and fit end mills, face mills and slot drills into collets and arbors • Deburr and finish machined edges with files and emery What we are looking for: • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron • Safety conscious and comfortable wearing PPE around moving machinery • Physically fit to stand and lift workpieces At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
