Day-to-day duties: • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to pass a weld test on the spot 4+ years on the tools preferred.
