Urgent requirement: we are hiring a steel fixer in Wilkes County, Georgia. What we are looking for: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules The role involves lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
