Great opportunity: we are hiring an argon welder in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. The role involves: • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) What we are looking for: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through At least 2 year(s) in a similar role. $4,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
