System formwork carpenter • Darlington, England

Immediate opening: we are hiring a system formwork carpenter in Darlington, England. You will be based on a metro and tunnel project. Ideal candidate: • Skilled with circular saw, hand tools and spirit level • Able to keep pace with tight pour schedules Your main tasks: • Repair damaged plywood and timber shutters • Cut and assemble plywood and timber panels for columns, beams and slabs • Read formwork drawings and setting-out marks to position the shutters • Watch the formwork during concreting and tighten up any movement • Seal panel joints and hold the correct concrete cover to prevent grout loss Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
