Stainless steel welder • Emmet County, Michigan

We are recruiting: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Emmet County, Michigan. You will be based in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. On a typical shift you will inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); carry out 6G pipe welds where required. What we are looking for: • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
