Immediate opening: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. You will be based at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection On a typical shift you will strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks. 3+ years on the tools preferred. Rotating shifts. Overtime paid at a premium rate. We offer $16 per hour plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
