Now hiring: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Elbert County, Colorado. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Requirements: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work Day-to-day duties: • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. $250 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
