Great opportunity: brick mason (Florida)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick mason in Marion County, Florida. The job is at a residential building site. Ideal candidate: • Own trowel, spirit level and basic hand tools • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently Day-to-day duties: • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays $20 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
