Bar bender and fixer wanted in Bridgend county borough

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Bridgend county borough, Wales. You will work on a busy residential building site. You should have: • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements The role involves lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat. 4+ years on the tools preferred. Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
