Vacancy available: we are hiring an argon welder in City of Chesapeake, Virginia. The job is at a busy fabrication workshop. On a typical shift you will back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent. What we are looking for: • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard Rotating shifts.
