Vacancy available: we are hiring a metal caster in Boone County, Indiana. You will work at a brass and bronze foundry. You should have: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Your main tasks: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring 5+ years on the tools preferred.
