Vacancy available: we are hiring an aluminium tig welder in Highland, Scotland. The job is at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Ideal candidate: • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances You will read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job. 4+ years on the tools preferred. Part-time with flexible hours. Performance bonus on top of base pay. £85 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
