Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Solano County, California. On a typical shift you will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. What we are looking for: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Six days a week, one day off.
