Great opportunity: gas metal arc welder (New York)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Cortland County, New York. You will work in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. The role involves change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc; lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration. Requirements: • ITI in welder trade or equivalent • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances $4,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
