You should have: • Confident using diagnostic scan tools • At least 2 years' hands-on experience as a car mechanic • Sound knowledge of petrol and diesel engines On a typical shift you will bleed the brake hydraulic lines and check pad wear; read fault codes and clear them after the repair; estimate repair costs and order the right parts; check and top up coolant, brake fluid and power-steering fluid; replace brake pads, discs and callipers.
