Aluminium TIG welder — Chatham County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring an aluminium TIG welder in Chatham County, North Carolina. The job is at a busy fabrication workshop. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety The role involves: • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise We offer $5,200 per month plus benefits.
