Retail butcher — Shasta County

Join our team: we are hiring a retail butcher in Shasta County, California. Your main tasks: • Portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights • Dress the chilled counter and rotate stock by date • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain • Run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone What we are looking for: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • 2+ years experience working as a butcher • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day Part-time with flexible hours.
