Now hiring: we are hiring a machine operator in City of Edinburgh, Scotland. On a typical shift you will run the first-off piece and check it against the drawing; load raw material and feed stock into the machine hopper; clear jams and remove rejected parts from the line; key in cycle parameters such as speed, feed rate and temperature; measure parts with vernier calliper, micrometer and go/no-go gauges. What we are looking for: • Able to read job cards and basic engineering drawings • Basic record-keeping and part-counting skills Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
