Now hiring: we are hiring a machine setter-operator in Santa Cruz County, California. The job is at an auto-parts workshop. On the job you will handle: • Record output, scrap and downtime on the production sheet • Set up and start the machine as per the job card • Run the first-off piece and check it against the drawing • Monitor gauges and stop the machine when readings drift • Measure parts with vernier calliper, micrometer and go/no-go gauges • Top up coolant, lubricant and hydraulic oil levels Requirements: • Able to stand for long hours on the shop floor • Basic record-keeping and part-counting skills 1+ years on the tools preferred.
