Fusing press operator • Isle of Wight, England

We are recruiting: we are hiring a fusing press operator in Isle of Wight, England. The role involves use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots. You should have: • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Walk-in interviews this week.
