Now hiring: we are hiring a metal caster in West Lothian, Scotland. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor The role involves check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes. Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Contact us to fix an interview.
