Brick and block layer • Menard County, Illinois

We are recruiting: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Menard County, Illinois. You will be based on a busy housing site. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • CSCS card or willingness to obtain one • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks Day to day you will pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser; forming arches, piers and reveals around openings; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation. At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
