Stainless steel welder wanted in Pike County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Pike County, Alabama. You will be based on an industrial construction site. Requirements: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) On a typical shift you will inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; carry out 6G pipe welds where required. Full-time with occasional weekends. $3,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
