Immediate opening: we are hiring a rebar worker in Kalamazoo County, Michigan. You will work on an infrastructure project such as a metro or flyover. Requirements: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing The role involves form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
