Ladle pourer wanted in Dorchester County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Dorchester County, South Carolina. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Requirements: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards The role involves: • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
