Brickwork mason • Iberia Parish, Louisiana

Immediate opening: we are hiring a brickwork mason in Iberia Parish, Louisiana. You will be based on a commercial construction site. On the job you will handle: • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod You should have: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
