Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Johnson County, Illinois. The job is at an automotive body and exhaust shop. You should have: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard On a typical shift you will sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing. Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Pay around $4,600 per month, based on your experience. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Six days a week, one day off.
