Now hiring: we are hiring a dogger in Kauai County, Hawaii. You will be based on an offshore oil and gas platform. Your main tasks: • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller Requirements: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles $140 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
