Fettler wanted in Gilmer County

Now hiring: we are hiring a fettler in Gilmer County, West Virginia. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. You will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. Requirements: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
