Blocklayer wanted in Gwinnett County

Now hiring: we are hiring a blocklayer in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The job is at a renovation and extension job. Day-to-day duties: • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Installing damp-proof courses, lintels and cavity trays • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation Ideal candidate: • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Performance bonus on top of base pay.
