Join our team: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Amelia County, Virginia. The job is on a busy residential building site. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing On the job you will handle: • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings Full-time, day shift. $4,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
