You should have: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight The role involves: • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
