Join our team: we are hiring a foundry operative in Columbus County, North Carolina. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. You should have: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Day to day you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
