Sand plant operator wanted in Kittitas County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Kittitas County, Washington. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day to day you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. Pay around $24 per hour, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
