Now hiring: metal caster (Iowa)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a metal caster in Benton County, Iowa. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. The role involves carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces. What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Basic grinding and fettling skills $5,300 per month, negotiable for the right hands. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
