Slinger signaller — Chemung County

Now hiring: we are hiring a slinger signaller in Chemung County, New York. You will be based at a shipyard. Day to day you will coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; guide loads through tight openings into their final position. What we are looking for: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Pay around $4,800 per month, based on your experience.
