Immediate opening: tailor machinist (Yobe State)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Tarmua, Yobe State. You will be based on an export house sewing floor. Day-to-day duties: • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation Requirements: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
